What is MCP?

What is MCP?
LLMs Are Useless. Until You Give Them Tools.

LLMs can’t send emails.
They can’t browse the web.
They can’t take action.

All they do is predict the next word.
That’s it. That’s the entire game.

So why are people building agents with them?

Because of one breakthrough:
Tools.

Think of tools like APIs.
LLMs talk. APIs act.

Want to search Google? That’s a tool.
Want to write to a spreadsheet? Another tool.
Want to read your email, summarize it, and message you on Slack?
That’s three tools, strung together by duct tape.

And that’s the current problem.
Tool use is powerful.
Tool orchestration is chaos.

This is why we don’t have Jarvis yet.
It’s not the AI that’s missing.
It’s the standard.

Just like REST unlocked the web…
MCP is trying to unlock AI.

Until then, every assistant is a fragile stack of plugins.
Clever, but brittle.
