On October 15, 2020, I made a choice:
I deleted every social media app from my phone except #Twitter . That decision wasn’t random—it was about embracing low time preference, focusing on what truly matters, and aligning with my #Bitcoin ikigai.

#Photography has always been part of my journey. Decades ago, I even shot professionally. The photo below? It was my last post on Instagram. But when I got suspended on #X, I turned to #Nostr —a space that’s calmer, more Zen, and built for freedom. And today, I stumbled across something incredible:

🟣 #Olas —the private, Nostr-native version of Instagram. Shoutout to Derek Ross for leading me there! Today, I downloaded the app by PABLOF7z , uploaded my first photo, and joined the #olas365 challenge for 2025.

📸 One post a day for 365 days, celebrating freedom tech, creativity, and community.

I still have lots of questions—like why the comments, likes, and zaps I got on my first post appeared on #Primal and #Damus , but not on the Olas app itself. I’m sure I’ll figure it out soon, but for now, I’m thrilled to dive in and explore!

Just like throwing spaghetti at the wall to test if it’s cooked, Nostr is in its experimental phase where developers and users are testing what features and applications will truly stick and become essential.

ORIGINS AND EVOLUTION
Much like spaghetti, which evolved from ancient Mediterranean noodles to become a global culinary phenomenon, Nostr represents a fundamental evolution in how we communicate online. The protocol’s elegant simplicity mirrors spaghetti’s basic ingredients - just wheat and water - yet both create endless possibilities.

DECENTRALIZED NATURE
Just as spaghetti spread across cultures and regions, being adapted and modified to local tastes, Nostr’s decentralized architecture allows for diverse implementations and use cases. The protocol’s relay system ensures messages flow freely across the network, much like how spaghetti production spread from Sicily to the rest of Italy and beyond.

The beauty of both spaghetti and Nostr lies in their adaptability. Just as spaghetti transformed from a regional Italian dish into countless global variations, Nostr’s protocol could evolve into applications we haven’t yet imagined.

Remember, when the Arabs introduced pasta to Sicily, nobody could have predicted it would become Italy’s national dish. Similarly, while we’re still discovering Nostr’s full potential, its fundamental properties of #decentralization and #censorship resistance suggest it could become a crucial infrastructure for digital freedom.

Whether all current #Nostr experiments will stick remains to be seen, but like that perfect al dente #spaghetti, the core protocol is proving to be a robust foundation for whatever comes next.
